1.In Undserstanding forign cultures, someone needs to understand well the cultural to avoid cultural conflicts. But, many people are failed to understand the values and customs of foreign cultural. According to your own idea, pleaser explain what do you need to have to understand foreign cultures in older to avoid cultural conglicts.
2. how do you define your local cultural is different from foreign cultural? Do you thin k local and foreign cultural need to be integrated? Please provide your reasons.
3. what is stereotype and prejudice? Does it exist in your local cultural? Give example?
Answer
1. In my opinion, in understanding foreign cultures we only need to adjust or adapt according to the times or technology/era; but we still maintain our local culture. That is, we still follow foreign cultures but we still adhere to our cultures.
2. To define our local cultures as different from foreign cultures, namely by introducingto every tourist who visits our area eachof our existing cultures, and comparing them with theirs. No, because foreign cultures are very different from local cultures and there are some local cultures that are strictly adhered to by their customary laws.
3. Stereotype is any thougth widely adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of behaving intended to represent the entire group of those individuals or behaviors as a whole, and Prejudice is an affective feeling towards a personbased on their perceived group membership.The word is often used to refer to a preconceived, usualy unfavourable, evaluation of another person based on that person’s political affiliation, sex, gender, beliefs, values, social class, age, disability, religion,sexuality, race, ethnicity, language, nationality, complexion, bauty, height, occupation, wealth, education, criminality, sport team affiliation or other personal characteristics.
